Most buyers choose Level 2 or Level 3

In practice, many purchasers require either a Level 2 or Level 3 survey. A Level 1 survey can be too limited where the buyer wants meaningful advice on defects, maintenance and risk.

If the property is older, extended, altered, non-standard, visibly defective, or you are planning works, a Level 3 survey is often the safer option.
